FAQ
How did it all begin?
I started blogging in April of 2010 with an intention to share makeup looks and reviews and especially to help Pakistani women in any way I could through my writing. I always wanted to run my own magazine so I could share my views about beauty and fashion. My blog is a dream come true. Also, I wish to run my own salon someday.
Who is Sara Hassan?
I am a 23 year old graduated student of Iqra University with a bachelors degree in Media Sciences with major in Animation. These days, I am working as a high school lecturer and teaching is just as fun as blogging. Both ways, I get to speak my mind and help others.
What is your blog about?
Well, initially it started out as a beauty blog however recently; my blog has started embracing fashion as well. Over all, it is a beauty blog with traces of fashion.
Where do you live?
I live in Karachi, Pakistan. I love my country and I am very proud to represent it. I speak four languages – Urdu, English, Pashto and Persian. My nationality is Pakistani.
Do you manage your blog alone?
Not at all! I used to do all of it alone but with time, I got my sisters into it and honestly, I wouldn’t have come this far without them.
What camera do you use?
I use a Nikon D90. I mostly take photos with the kit lens but lately, I have switched to a Nikon Macro lens for capturing better details. For lighting, I use Nikon SB-900 speed light.
Do you receive free samples for review?
Yes I do! I am sent free samples for consideration. I believe in being honest to my readers and free stuff doesn’t sway me. please also go through my disclosure policy.
Do you get paid for your reviews?
No! I don’t get paid for reviews nor will I ever do that. Paid reviews kill the purpose of an average man’s thought about a product. I don’t advertise or promote brands or products.
How long do you take to review a product?
Well, It depends on the nature of the product. For skincare products, I usually take 3-4 weeks. For makeup, I take at least 2-3 weeks time.
Who designed your blog template?
I designed it but haven’t made it from scratch. I used a free layout and done a lot of tweaking.
Where do you mostly shop from?
I mostly shop from Agha’s superstore (for makeup) and Zamzama, Gulf way and Ashiana mall (for shoes and outfits). Other than that, I like to shop online from Just4girls.pk or other websites like BeautyJoint and Ali Express.
Why is a particular brand not been reviewed on your blog?
I try to review both drugstore and high-end brands. My priority is to review brands that my readers can approach. Unfortunately, not all brands are accessible to me where I live. For people in Pakistan wondering about why I do not support local unknown brands, I have a responsibility to you. I can never talk about a brand that has no website, no details or ingredients written on the back. I only review brands that have been approved by FDA or other trusted administrations.
Are you earning through your blog?
No I am not earning through my blog. I never wanted to earn money from my blog but in a way, yes! I am earning a lot of support and love from my readers. My readers are the reason I blog.
