To tell you the truth, this product is no different than many good hair serums on the market. Let’s put it this way, I like the product but I expected just a liiiiiiiittle more from it.
Avon Moroccan Argan Oil is a leave-in serum that’s supposed to be applied on damp hair after a wash. It’s a bit tricky to apply; you have to be very careful about the quantity because if you apply too much, it will leave your hair looking greasy. I really don’t suggest applying it on dry hair for the same reason. Depending on the length of your hair, dispense 2-3 pumps and coat your hair evenly.
Coming to the product and results – to begin with, it smells heavenly! To some, scent might be a problem but I think it’s great. In case you’re wondering, the scent doesn’t linger for long and fades after awhile. Since my hair is normal, I knew there’s not gonna be much of a difference after application. And I was right. My hair is naturally shiny so I wouldn’t say it made them even shinier – it didn’t (I was kinda crushed since that’s what I was hoping for). But that’s alright! If you have dry/damaged hair, you would definitely notice the shine. I love the fact that it makes my hair soft, silky and manageable. I have tried many leave-in products in my life but this one makes my hair very soft. So soft in fact, I don’t even feel like styling or brushing them. But again, that’s because I have somewhat naturally straight hair. The results may vary from hair to hair. My sister who’s got thick wavy hair thinks it makes her hair manageable and reduces frizz throughout the day. It also doesn’t weigh hair down which is impressive.
Overall, I like this product a lot and think it’s worth a shot.
You might like it if...
- You expect it to make your hair look healthy.
- It adds natural shine to you hair.
- It makes your hair soft, silky and manageable.
- You like the scent.
- You expect it to give dazzling shine to your hair.
- You like scent-free products.
- Applying too much of the product makes your hair greasy looking.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the review! I actually just ordered one, after reading your post I think I'm gonna like it :) Have a nice day!
ReplyDeletehave heard quite a lot about it, i thought you'd give it a five.
ReplyDeletedoes it contain silicon???
ReplyDeleteYes, it contains silicone :)
DeleteMaybe it's good for hair in the long run. Nice review :)
ReplyDeleteLeave in serums are definitely tricky to apply, good to know it isn't anything too special. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI was hopping this product would do miracles, mostly because I can get this one where I live, as opposed to the Moroccan Oil which I'd have to order online and pay an arm and a leg for it, but also because I'd love to find a leave in serum-type product. I do enjoy the ones I have, but keep wondering if there's something better out there. I'm still doing good and sticking to my 4 product routine, it was a struggle, I'm an over product user LOL but I'd still love to try oil on my hair and see the results. Thanks a lot for sharing this Sarah, xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks nice, there's so many of the same type of product on the market these days! I have dry ends so I apply a little bit of moroccan oil and then run my hands through the top to tame fly-aways without adding too much grease to the scalp.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the brand of Maroccan oil is my experience. Some brands do miracles and some are just crap...
ReplyDeleteHey sarah! can u do a post on some good heat protectiant serum,i curl my hair alot n MAshaAllah it doesn't affect much on my hair, but still it wud be better to use something before to protect my hair from all the heat!
