I have compiled this list after going through a lot of reviews and some friend recommendations just to guide you about some of the skincare products that probably would suit combination to oily skin. Of course, some of the products I've tried, some I haven't so I'd really appreciate if you could add your valuable suggestions and experiences in the comment section below.
Difference between combination and oily skin?
A combination skin has certain areas on the face that are oily and others that are not. Mostly, the oil gathers in the T-zone – the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. This area is more likely to have excess oil due to larger, more active oil glands.
A skin that appears shiny and oily to the touch can be categorized as oily skin. This excess of oil production often causes the skin to have more blemishes like pimple, blackhead and white head. The pores also appear more visible on this skin type.
Tip: When wanting to purchase a skincare product or any other beauty product, check out some reviews online. You don't wanna waste your cash on a purchase that you'd regret buying.

very helpfull post. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteVery nice post :)
ReplyDeleteThough i would say this would be perfect for oily skin.. but not exactly for combination skin yeah. I got combination skin and most of those products dont work well for me :(
This is a great help! thanks for taking your time to share this. at least I now know which products to check out... ^_^
ReplyDeleteHey great post Sarah. I love how you come up with posts which are so helpful. May you keep on helping all of us and may God bless you. Just to add a few things. Ponds face wash is bit too drying for my combination skin. Dr.Afzal Lodhi recommended a face wash called Micellar Foaming. It is absolutely amazing. It's not drying at all for my face neither it is too heavily moisturizing. It is just the right amount. It dispenses foam from a pump.
ReplyDeleteHe also prescribed me a moisturizer which is just great! He said oily and combination skin dont have to use oil based moisturizers BUT water based moisturizers. Cause no matter how many moisturizers i tried i always had this feeling that something heavy is on my face and i would have an urge to wash my face and when i did my skin would feel it needed moisture. So i was really fed up. The moisturizer he recommended was Maxdermil moisturizer. It has sun screen in it aswell so i just have to put on some thing on face rather than layering up different products. It feels really light when applied and dries after a few minutes. Then you dont even feel as if you have applied anything. These both products are just amazing and i am so glad he prescribed them to me for my combination skin. I always keep on telling my friends and cousins to try it and they all liked it. I hope these products would be great for other people too :)
Hey Kiran, thank you for your lovely words <3. I truly appreciate your help. I will sure look out for the products you mentioned. :)
DeleteWell, this post is just a little guidance. As I always say, there's no such product that can satisfy everyone. For some it works, for some it doesn't - it's relative you see. The Pond's one works for my combination skin that's why I mentioned it over here. :)
awesome post sarah.. i am one of your silent readers :)
Deletethe ponds face wash does not work for me as well.. the himalaya one does.. and still trying to find the best moisturizer.. i will surely try the maxdermil moisturizer, bcoz my skin is just the way you described it .. thank you for sharing :)
I couldn't find maxdermil moisturizer...I tried to google it but I could not find anything on it :S Are you sure this was the name of the product? I am really in search of a good moisturizer for my acne prone skin.
Deletethank you sara :)

Hey Amal, I once saw some Queen Helene products on Just4girls. You can request them to arrange it for you. It's not available in stores at the moment :)
Deletethanx a lot :)
Deletehey nice post... How how to use a blotting paper have u reviewed any? share the link plzzzz
ReplyDeleteI haven't yet reviewed any. It's very simple to use. You just press it gently on your oily zone and the sheet absorbs it. You don't have to rub it over. :)

ReplyDeleteHey Amna, thanks for all the love ^_^
DeleteWell, this post contains all the budget friendly products suitable for combination to oily skin type. For Acne, if you have any, I suggest consulting a dermatologist for an accurate guidance. If you have on and off zits, you can try Clinagel Acne Clearing Gel available for around 100 Rs at pharmacies. :)
nice
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list of products, very sweet of you as usual :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, your picture in the sidebar looks so glamarous, especially the color you used on your eyes really make them stand out, all in all one of your best makeup looks so far ;)

ReplyDeleteListen, obviously we cant waste the whole potato for the sake of a slice right? How long can we refrigerate the leftover piece for?
Thanks.
Try taking a small one. You can refrigerate it for three days :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sara, thanks for the lovely post. I wonder if you could recommend some products for people who have big pores, I've tried Ponds Smooth Pores facial, it didn't worked for me.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, an extremely helpful post!
ReplyDeleteHi Sara.. i am confused about my skin type. can u guide me here... my t zone is indeed oily but rest of the skin isn't that much, but yes my cheeks are shinny all the time. and i have a problem with pores, pimples, black heads as well. i used neutrogena's oil free face wash it didnt suit me. my whole point of commenting here is i am always confused which product to buy as i dont really know my skin type and there was a major problem regarding my acne. i consulted a dermatologist and after the course of medicines my acne is almost gone, but the marks are there and same as i mentioned above i have a problem regarding pores, black heads and pimples at times. that's why i am too much conscious to apply any product on my skin. how can u help me understand what is the real problem behind what i should do and what i shouldnt. looking forward to ure reply :)
ReplyDeleteHey Hira. Honestly, I am no expert on skin. I am glad you got dermatologist's advice and got rid of your acne. From what it sounds like, I think you have an oily skin type. You complain of open pores, blackheads and occasional zits. It might be due to your negligence regarding your facial hygiene. Try out some of the face washes mentioned in the post. I also suggest using cleansing milk to remove any makeup or dirt when you come home from work and then wash your face. Also use toner daily on your cleansed face before going to bed at night - it would help shrink pores. For blackheads, you need to scrub at least once a week to unclog your pores. For scars and blemishes, use Gram Flour (basen) mask mixed with lemon or rub a potato on the spot. To nip the pimple in the bud, use Clinagel Gel easily available at pharmacies for PKR 100. I hope this helps :)

ReplyDeleteHey Sara, please go through my post on 'How to Remove Tan and Lighten skin' in the Beauty Guide section. I am sure the home made remedies mentioned in that post would help you get rid of the dull complexion :) xx
DeleteHello Sara,
ReplyDeleteCould you kindly guide where to get these oil blotting sheets from? In Karachi, or online - either would work.
Thank you.
Hey Mal, I saw some blotting sheets in the cosmetics section at Saffron (near Forum). You can also check out Just4girls.pk for them :)
