My thoughts
Since I have a combination skin, my face gets crazy oily in the T-zone. I am a person who doesn’t buy over-the-top advertising claims companies make so obviously I do not expect this product to turn me into snow white or something. I have some blemishes on my face but it would take its time to fade and I can’t say for sure if this cream is helping with that since I’ve used it for like seven days only. The only thing I was expecting out of it was to be a moisturizer suitable for my skin especially in this hot weather. So I am just sharing my initial thoughts about it.

The cream has a mousse-like consistency. It’s almost weightless like a whipped cream and doesn’t feel on my skin. I love the faint fresh lemon-y scent it has which stays for hours. For people with oily skin, this will hydrate your face just in the right amount. The cream dries to a matte finish but does it keep you matte for 8 hours? Absolutely not! On my skin, it survives some 5 hours. My sister with oily skin says it keeps her matte for good 4 hours. That’s not bad at all. I have to say this product does keep excessive oil at bay.

Like all Garnier creams I have used, this too leaves behind a white cast however it’s not very visible; it just makes your face appear bright; I don’t mind that personally. I don’t think it will make you fair although I do believe that it might help in removing a tan or fade away blemishes since it has lemon extract.

Can it be worn under makeup? Yes! Ever since it came, I have been wearing it under my makeup religiously and it works great for me. Also, it didn't break me out if that's what you're wondering.  I am definitely going to buy myself a new tube once I run out. It's not only priced reasonably, it also has UVA/UVB filters for protection against the sun.

You might like it if...
  • You're looking for something that will keep you shine-free for a few hours.
  • You want a light-weight formula.
  • You enjoy the fresh lemon scent.
  • You like how it brightens up your face.
  • It helps remove tanned skin with continuous use.
You might not like it if...
  • You're expecting to keep you matte for 8 hours.
  • Instead of brightening, it appears as white cast on your face.
  • You expect it to make you fairer than your natural skin color.

Hey Sara nice review and thanx for being honest, dear I have an oily T-zone like IRAQ and dry patches on my cheeks like AFghanistan these days due to changing weather, I m not into fairness but yes need a balancing mousturizer, will this product do? as after every wash my facial skin feels stretchy on my cheeks but i cant apply mousturizer due to oily T-zone...or will u suggest something else?

    1. Yes, in my opinion, this is a balancing moisturizer. I will suggest trying out the mini tube first (which is for Rs.99) and see if it works for you. :)

  7. LOL. It took me a little while to process the Fairness part of the title. I'm not really interested in lightening my skin tone, but i'd try this for the mattifying properties. 4 hours (like you said) isn't bad at all. Though i'd be disappointed in it not living up to the longer claim, oily face girls sometimes have to take what they can get!
