Sleek MakeUP Ultra Mattes V2 Darks Palette – Review, swatches and a look!

I am so glad Sleek MakeUP came out with matte eyeshadow palettes. I personally favor matte over metallic finish because I find them rather wearable.

Looks like my palette didn't survive the long travel. I am happy that only one shade was broken; it's still usable though.

My thoughts
Ultra Matte V2 has an array of gorgeous deep colors; it has everything you’d need to create a slew of stunning bold looks. I do see a few shades in there that can be used for daily wear as well.

When I got to know about the release of the palettes (V1 & V2), I was wishing so badly for it to have a soft texture and that they would blend easily. Most matte shadows that I have seen are either chalky, lack pigmentation or both. I’d say this one is an exception to some extent for a drugstore palette. Most of the shadows are soft in texture, easy to work with and have a rich pigmentation. Few of them disappointed me though.

Let’s analyze the shadows individually. Kicking off from the top row, Orbit is a nice teal shade and thankfully this one is pigmented and soft. The shade next to it, Ink is also pigmented but a bit chalky. Highness is a beautiful purple with a soft texture but is less on pigment. Noir in this palette is not the blackest black I have seen and though pigmented, it lacks a soft texture. Dune is such a lovely and wearable color but it doesn’t quite show up on my skin tone.  Pillow talk is surprisingly pigmented and has a great texture too.

Coming to the lower row, Thunder is soft texture-wise but needs some building up for intensity. Maple, a reddish brown is pigmented with a silky soft texture. Flesh, another neutral color, has a soft texture plus it's good in pigmentation. Paper bag, a light brown, is nicely pigmented along with Villan which is a deep plum. Fern is the only shade I am disappointed with the most. It’s such a gorgeous green but sadly, it feels chalky and is the least pigmented one in the palette.

With a good primer below, you can rock the shades from dusk till dawn. Overall, I like this palette but I don’t love it like I love the rest of my I-divine palettes.

• You fancy matte eye shadows.
• You're hoping for good pigmentation.
• You expect easy blending.
• You're into bold and dark colors.
• You require soft texture.

You might not like it if...

• You're expecting a soft texture from each shade. 
• Some of the shades disappoint you (pigmentation and texture wise).
