The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub – Review

The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub
I have been meaning to try The Body Shop body scrubs for a very long time. I was in desperate need of something to get rid of my flaky elbows and dull skin, I guess I got this scrub in just the right time.

Olive Body Scrub
Best if you want to: Reveal brighter, smoother skin with exfoliating crushed walnut shells and crushed olive stones in a creamy body scrub.

Best for: normal to dry skin

How it works:
  • Community Trade organic olive oil conditions skin.
  • Sunflower oil moisturizes and softens skin.
  • Carrot oil and root extract replenish lost moisture and nourish skin.

My thoughts
I haven’t experimented much with body scrubs but this product has been a winner since the very first trial; this is the only scrub I have tried with a thorough scrubbing power.

I don’t find olives palatable so I wasn’t expecting the scent to please me. Anyway, when you open the jar, you see a well held creamy mound of the product. The quantity is good enough to be used for two to three months if you scrub on a weekly basis. Thankfully, I am not averse to the scent of olives; it’s fresh and clean but personally I enjoy overpowering aroma experience more.

The consistency is perfect; it holds up well and won’t spill while scooping out. I’d rather see it in a tube because I need to be careful to avoid dipping wet fingers into the jar but that’s not an issue, you can use a small scoop or spoon for that purpose.

The scrub has numerous fine granules that don’t feel abrasive on the skin at all. I damp my skin and spread it on evenly. It doesn’t dissolve so you don’t require a whole lot of it. It holds onto the skin well so that I can spread it out with a gentle massaging motion. I have to say, the scrubbing action is phenomenal; I can feel the dead skin flaking off which is pretty awesome. It doesn’t irritate or leave behind any oily feeling or residue over the skin and it washes away quite easily.

I am absolutely enjoying my shower experience with this product. My skin feels squeaky clean and hydrated after I use it. I am so addicted to it, there is no going back and I would definitely try other TBS body scrubs.

You might like it if…
  • You want a body scrub with gentle grains.
  • You expect a thorough scrubbing action.
  • You want a scrub that doesn’t leave residue/oily film.
  • You want a scrub that hydrates.
  • You have a sensitive skin and nothing works for you.
  • You expect a mild scent.
You might not like it if…
  • You are not into olives.
  • You find scooping out of the jar a hassle.
My rating:
4.5/5

  11. I want to try a TBS scrub too. This looks so nice and...gritty...in the best of ways. I'm not sure what olives smell like but there's always rinsing with something with a nicer scent ?
