The Body Shop Nutriganics Drops of Youth

It’s just been three weeks since I’ve been using this product and even though it hasn’t got its fair run, I felt like sharing my initial thoughts about it.

Nutriganics Drops of Youth
Our certified organic range has been created for the first signs of ageing. This innovative concentrate helps to enhance surface skin condition, leaving it looking smoother, fresher and healthier.

Nutriganics Drops of Youth is enriched with beech bud extract and plant stem cells from criste-marine.
  • Helps enhance surface skin condition
  • Smoothes
  • Instantly moisturising
  • 99% of ingredients are of natural origin
How to use this product?
Gently massage two to three drops into skin, and allow to sink in before applying your usual moisturizer or serum.

My thoughts
Quite frankly, I knew nothing about stem cells, thanks to my sis (who’s doing medicine) for explaining to me the role of stem cells in our skin. In simple words, stem cells are the ‘mother cells’ that play a major part in skin rejuvenation process by replacing the damaged cells on the surface. With time, stem cells deplete which drives the ageing process. Do plant stem cells play the same role of human stem cells? The answer is no. Plant stem cells don’t have all the properties of human stem cells but they are quite rich in antioxidants and have the capacity to protect our stem cells from UV rays and environmental insults.

I don’t know about its long term results but as much as I have used it, I can say that I absolutely appreciate a smooth and fresh skin with an improved texture with its continuous usage. Now I am not saying it has changed my skin overnight but I’m very much addicted to it. It’s a clear gel-like serum with a very refreshing herbal scent to it which thankfully isn’t pungent or medicinal.

The bottle comes with a pipette so nothing unhygienic. As you depress the plunger, you get one drop which is enough for one time use but you can pour two-three drops. It appears sticky but once I spread it on my face, it goes on smoothly and sinks into the skin in half a minute leaving NO greasy feel or residue. I would like if the pipette would've been designed with a better sucking power.

I use it two times a day. In the morning, I put it under my makeup. In my opinion, the instant result it gives would definitely be a smooth hydrated skin; I can feel it! At night, after cleansing my face I don’t forget to apply it because it controls the overnight secretion from the oil glands and I wake up to an incredibly fresh firm skin. I’ve also been noticing that my skin appears more even and healthy now. This must give you an idea of how religiously I’ve been using it.

I don’t find this product moisturizing enough for a dry skin and your skin might feel a little taut so do moisturize afterwards. All you oilies out there, you will LOVE it! It gives the perfect balance of hydration to a combination/oily skin.

Is this product anti-aging? Not entirely because it's been created for the first signs of ageing. If you're 40 plus and expect  it to be totally age reversing by diminishing ALL the lines and wrinkles, that would be very irrational to think. This product should be started in early 20s for the long term benefits.

Drops of Youth has 20% ingredients from organic farming. Another plus, it has no parabens and no silicones. I didn’t face any negative reaction but you should consider trying out the tester before you purchase. Through my overall experience, this product brings out a smooth, fresh and glowing skin from within.

Update: After I finished it up completely, I noticed that my skin looked just about the same it looked after three weeks of usage. Overall, I think it's a light hydrating serum suitable for combination/oily skin. I don't find the results to be long-lasting though; it's not a miracle serum after all. I find TBS Vit C Microdermabrasion a lot more effective at smoothing skin's texture and evening out the skin tone but of course, it's not an anti-aging product and also not suitable for sensitive skin.

You might like it if…
  • You expect a soft and fresh skin with its continuous usage
  • You want a little hydration for your combination to oily skin type
  • You expect a non-greasy feel
  • You expect it to improve your skin texture/make it smooth
  • You’re looking for a paraben/silicone free product
You might not like it if…
  • You don’t wait enough for the results to show up
  • You expect great moisture for your dry/normal skin
  • You think it's pricey
  • It doesn't work for you
  • The results don't last after you discontinue its use
My rating
3.5/5

It costs £22.00 which would be around PKR 3300 which sure is a bit of luxury but quite an addictive one.

What do you think about the product? Have you tried the Nutriganics range?
