Rose Water by Avon & Star by Revlon – Review & Swatches! (Guest Post)

In this post you will get to see what I wear on my nails in routine when I don't want much color but want a livelier look on my nails. First one is Avon's nail color in Rose Water. This is my all-time most favorite shade. I absolutely love it. Second one is Revlon's top coat in Star. Let’s see how I found them.

Rose Water by Avon - My experience:
This is a very pretty nude shade, perfect for everyday nails. It dries super-fast and two coats are sufficient for full coverage. Its bottle has a very attractive shape and handle has a solid grip. Applicator is the usual one and gives a good application. If a clear top coat is applied, this nail color stays for over ten days and without a top coat it stays for about 5-7 days. (This time period is for my nails and my activities includes each and every house chore daily, from cooking to cleaning and washing to taking care of a three year old). This is one nail color that I love to keep in my travel kit, especially for its fast drying feature.

Cost & Availability:

I bought it from Al-Fatah DHA, Lahore for 390 PKR, which is about $4.25. It should be available on all super stores that has cosmetics.

Swatch:
Following is the swatch for this nail color with two coats. No top coat has been applied.

Star (Top Coat) by Revlon - My Experience:
This is a limited edition product by Revlon. It is a top coat and gives a glittery effect. It has glitters of two sizes. Smaller one is in bluish color and bigger one is in silver shade that reflects the color around it. This top coat dries fast unlike other glittery nail colors I have tried so far. It is perfect when you want that bit of sparkle and shimmer to add in your natural routine look. The more coats you apply, the more glitter you get on your nails. I even like to apply it without any base color. However, with my work above mentioned work routine, it starts to go away in 3-4 days but if it is sealed with another clear top coat, it stays on for about 7-9 days at least. It also has the usual applicator.

Cost:
If this nail color is still available as it is a limited edition item, you can get it for about $7. I got it from UK but it can be found on eBay.

Swatch:
Following are the swatches of this top coat. First one has no base color and I applied two coats. Second one is on top of two coats of Rose Water by Avon. Two coats of Star have been applied.
