When I started out with makeup, I had a vague understanding of how useful makeup brushes can be. With time and experience, I have come to know the significance of makeup brushes. Makeup application is a lot easier with the right kind of makeup brushes.
This post is going to focus just on Sigma brushes. You can’t deny the fact that Sigma is affordable (compared to other high-end alternatives) and the quality is impressive. My absolute favorite Sigma brushes would be the ones below. I simply cannot imagine going back to applying makeup without them.

F80 – Flat Top Kabuki
Should I even begin praising it? This brush is a life saver and probably the best brush in my life. The Sigma Flat Top Kabuki makes my foundation application so much better. I use it to blend and buff my foundation for a natural, even and flawless look. You can also apply your foundation with it. I also like applying my compact powder foundation on top of my liquid foundation to set my makeup with it. A lot of my mates keep asking me how I achieve this flawless face. Well friends, this brush is IT! With just spending $16.00, you can change your life.

F10 – Powder/Blush
F10 is ideal for applying blush. Since it’s flat and fluffy, I think it makes a good brush for highlighting and contouring too. Just press the bristles between your fingers to make it more flat and begin to highlight/contour. This versatile brush can be yours for the same price as F80.

E55 – Eye shading
Whatever my eye makeup looks like today is because of this brush and E40. The eye shading brush is amazing at applying pressed or loose eye shadow on the lid. The flat nature of this brush also allows applying shadow on the crease. The trick is how you use your hand to apply. To apply the color on the lid, place the brush 45 degrees to your lid and when you apply, you’re actually using one face of the brush. You can dip the other face into a second color too. To apply shadow to your crease, place the brush perpendicular to your crease area and apply (here you’re working with just the tip of the brush). For just $9, this brush could be yours.

E40 - Tapered Blending
With this brush, I get that blended effect I was always looking for. Like I said before, with E40 and E55, you can take your eye makeup to the next level. Love this brush! You can get this for $11.

L05 – Lip
This brush is amazing! I always had trouble applying lip color with a brush but ever since this came into my world, all that has changed. I love applying my Sleek makeUP pout paints and OCC lip tars with it. I also apply my NYX round lipsticks with it since they’re too soft and fragile (and I fear it will break or bend if I apply directly to my lips). $9 wouldn’t hurt your pocket I suppose.
With just these five brushes, you can create a whole makeup look. Of course you need more brushes like a concealer brush but imagine being in a situation (traveling maybe) where you just have to take 5 brushes with you, these will do!

ReplyDeleteNice post. I agree about the f80 and powder brush. Foundation application without f80, no way. =)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I've grown a lot fonder of my F80 the more i've used it. It's saved my life on days when I had 3 minutes to put on a face. I love it for liquid foundation application! I've been wondering how the F10 compares to my current blush brush (tarte's). Thank you so much for your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't tried any sigma burshes but i hope i do soon

ReplyDeleteHey sara! Where in Lahore can i get these?
ReplyDeleteI am afraid, these brushes can only be purchased online from Sigma's Official Website. Please click the links in the post to visit. Thank you! :)
DeleteHi Sara
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. Do you know anyone in Pakistan who has purchased these online and had them shipped here? If yes, do you have any idea if they had to pay any extra customs/taxes when the shipment arrived? Thanks!
Hey Wurm, there is some duty on large packages but if your order is small, I don't think you'd be charged for it. You can also visit Enhanced Beauty on facebook to order Sigma brushes (they are trusted wholesalers of Sigma in Pakistan). :)
Deletesara i have recently bought F80 and P80 and i so so love them, all the other non-sigma brushes look like trash to me now!!! can you tell me of some more sigma face brushes that would be of very much use and value?? not eye brushes!!
ReplyDeleteHey Amy, I am happy to know you love them. Well, I don't really use any brushes other than F80, the large face powder and the powder blush in my daily routine. :)

Hey Anam, thank you so much for your lovely words. :) You can easily purchase Sigma Brushes online from Just4girls.pk or Enhanced Beauty (official Facebook retailer of Sigma in Pakistan). :)

For contouring, use an angled brush. You can checkout Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour or F84 Angled Kabuki. xx
