My thoughts
I bought this product a couple of weeks ago from Mottas Super market. I have been planning on to get a sunscreen for myself since the one I had didn’t work out for me. It was by the same brand and is quite popular. You must have guessed it by now, I am talking about Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 50 which was anything but dry. I found it VERY heavy for a daily use. As a sun block, no doubt it was very effective but it got too much greasy by the end of the day which felt like an oil slick. It broke me out too sometimes so I quit using it.

Just recently, I noticed some tiny bumps appearing on my arms every time I was getting exposed to the sun. It has never happened to me before so I didn’t have a clue as to what was causing it. I asked my sister (who is studying medicine), ‘Am I allergic to sun?’ She said, ‘OMG! This leads to skin cancer.’ She never ceases to pull my leg. I admit, it did freak me out for a moment! lol

Anyway, I’ve been using this one for more than two weeks now and those tiny bumps appear no more. I use it on my face as well under my makeup. Since it’s a moisturizer, it leaves my skin hydrated in the right amount. It also helps with blending my foundation which is a bonus! The cream is scent-free, light weight and sinks into my skin quickly with no sign of white sheen. I won’t say it doesn’t make my face shiny looking at the end of the day but it’s a lot less compared to the one I used before. My face doesn’t appear shiny for good three hours. However I wouldn’t recommend this product if you have an oily skin as it breaks me out on my T-zone sometimes.

I am still looking for a better option so I’d probably not repurchase it until I try a few others. But I do like it as it’s FAR better than what I have used in the past.

You might like it if...
  • You're looking for a moisturizer with SPF.
  • You have dry/normal skin type.
  • You expect it to be light weight.
You might not like it if...
  • You have a combination to oily skin.
  • It breaks you out.

Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer costs PKR 650 and can be purchased from any good superstore across Pakistan.

Have you tried it? Which sunscreen would you recommend?

    1. I was previously using this but now I'm using Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunblock Lotion SPF 30 which is much lighter compared to this. I would say go for the lotion in summer :)
