L'Oreal REVITALIFT Day cream Anti-wrinkle + Firming – Review

Have you crossed your 20s? Ever considered using an anti-wrinkle cream?

L'Oreal REVITALIFT Day cream - Anti-wrinkle+Firming
L’Oréal believes that youthful beauty is found by stimulating one’s mind, body and curiosity and is not confined to women of a specific age. With this in mind, the team at L’Oréal Paris have created a unique New Revitalift formula to cater to our anti-aging skin needs! The cream works on three major functions — re-tightening, re-pulping and stabilizing — key to stimulating the skin’s “self-lifting” capacity. After all with age and the kind of environment we live in Pakistan, our skin’s 8 natural lifters are altered making the surface wrinkles more noticeable while the skin loses firmness.  Creamy, full, rich and suave, Revitalift  leaves a sensation of freshness and comfort and in just 4 weeks, wrinkles are visibly reduced, skin becomes firmer and the face looks four to five years younger and is appropriate and advisable for women aged 28 and above.

My thoughts
First of all, I haven’t used this cream myself because I think I haven’t aged enough to use an anti-wrinkle cream yet. I gave this cream to my mom to test who is in her 40s. She has been using it religiously every night for over a month now. Why night? Why not day? Because she felt it tad heavy that was making her skin go oily while doing the kitchen chores. So, I suggested her to use it at night.

The first question is ‘what actually causes our skin to wrinkle’. Wikipedia explains it as:
“Wrinkling in the skin is caused by habitual facial expressions, aging, sun damage, smoking, poor hydration, and various other factors. With prolonged water exposure, the outer layer of skin starts to absorb water. The skin doesn't expand evenly, causing it to wrinkle. Depletion of water in the body, as occurs with dehydration (low water intake/high water loss), can also cause this puckering of the skin.”
All the factors mentioned above damage our skin’s collagen. Collagen is a protein from which our skin is made. This explains the purpose of an anti-wrinkle cream – ‘to maintain hydration, prevent damage to skin’s collagen and protect the skin from harmful sun rays’. Does this cream do that?

In my mom words, when she first used it, she really appreciated its subtle fragrance. The consistency is just like any other cream, applies evenly but feels bit heavy on the skin. It leaves no visible white film but because it moisturizes, it leaves a shiny layer. She says her skin feels soft, hydrated and appears fresh all day. My mom has no visible wrinkles but just little fine lines around her eyes which don’t seem to have diminished so far. I am surprised, this cream doesn’t contain SPF. I mean, how is it supposed to protect the skin from UV rays that causes wrinkles?

Bottom line: This cream makes skin look hydrated, smooth, youthful and glowy but has no significant effect on wrinkles or lines in one month. It may minimize them with continuous use – say 4-5 months.

You might like it if…
  • You want a good moisturizing cream.
  • You want a youthful glow.
  • You want a cream that would make your skin look fresh, smooth and hydrated.
You might not like it if…
  • You believe it would reduce your wrinkles in one month.
  • You don’t like a cream that feels a bit heavy on your skin.
  • You're looking for an anti-wrinkle cream with SPF.

  1. Great review. I agree that it should contain some SPF as the sun is one of the major factors for wrinkles.

  2. my mom uses Ponds Age Miracle.. i dont see any changes in her skin either.. but the cream smells so pleasant.. im not sure if these creams really work.. do they.

  3. I agree with your review, its a very heavy cream only used for night and I wish this had SPF in it!

It doesn't make any difference to wrinkles. Anti aging creams, as the name suggests, delays appearance of wrinkles on skin and does not treat them..
