The first patent of the company was for solid shampoo bar in the year 1986. Lush has now around 185 shops and retail stores throughout the world, which add to its incredible amount of sales and business. Lush products are handmade, which help the lush production team to make the ideal products designed specifically to suit the individual needs of the consumers. The company has the vision to develop fresh products in the history of cosmetic production business. The company headquarters and production facilities are located in Canada and the time involved in getting the final products at your home can go up to 10 to 15 days. A wide range of products
The range of Lush products include bath bombs, soaps, shower gels, bubble bars, skin, and health care products, bubble bars, solid shampoo bars etc. The company specializes in making bath bombs, a product which can be considered as the company’s USP. These products are of very high quality, which comes from their organic and fresh components. The products can be bought on reasonable prices.
An environment friendly company
Lush also follows very ethical practices and is an active participant in environment protection campaigns. The company was a key player in the product packaging campaign of 2008. Its ask me ‘Why I am naked slogan’ helped to draw the consumer’s attention to the harmful impact of packaging on the environment and also to the fact that the United States alone consumes around 80 million tonnes of packaging each year. The palm oil usage in production of soaps causes deforestation. Lush launched an anti palm oil campaign in 2009 in order to create awareness about palm oil production techniques and practices followed by companies throughout the world and to prevent them from using palm oil products and saving the mother nature. The palm oil usage has already caused deforestation and ecological disturbances in countries like Malaysia and Indonesia.
The limitations of the company
Its products have been rejected at various stages, disheartening for the company. The Skin Nanny and Snake Oil Dandruff Scalp Treatment Bar were rejected after review. But the overall review of the products was satisfactory. Lush defines and labels its products in a very clear way. You will find the sign of V for vegan and M for may melt clearly displayed on the cans, bottles, and pouches. The company mostly uses non synthetic material for its product manufacturing, though the company uses two products of synthetic origin. These are methyl paraben and propyl paraben. Since the company uses them in low concentrations, the products are not harmful for the users. Lush products can be relied upon for their effectiveness. The manufacturing from natural products adds to their user friendly benefits. The cost effectiveness is also a major advantage associated with the products. The company is likely to expand to other areas of the world in near future, which will make them a more prominent player in cosmetic business.
