Today's review is about the NEW Stay Matte foundation by Rimmel London. Let's find out how it really is.
Rimmel London STAY MATTE foundationRimmel's new Stay Matte Foundation features upgraded formulations incorporating it’s first natural shine-control complex. This innovative Natural Shine Control Complex combines three botanicals– Cotton to help control excess oil, Chamomile to help calm skin and reduce redness, and Cucumber for its clarifying properties – to soothe and clarify the complexion while absorbing excess oil. The result is a high-performance formula that continuously helps control shine and keeps skin looking flawlessly fresh and matte for up to 12 hours.
But that's not all. While shine-control foundations can often be thick and heavy, Stay Matte feels lightweight. It glides on smoothly to provide even, natural-looking, long-wearing coverage that effectively conceals imperfections while revealing your natural flawless matte perfection. And, because it is free of fragrance, oils, parabens and talc, and because it won't clog pores, it's great for all skin types.
My thoughtsSo I got this foundation in my mail some weeks ago and since then I have been using it to see how it is. First of all, it's NOT really a matte foundation. I would say it's rather 'Semi Matte' with an obvious dewy finish. When I first used it, I found it a little runny but smooth in consistency and because of that I felt it hard to control and blend into my skin. It takes some time to blend flawlessly however I wish it were a bit thick in consistency.
This foundation gives a light coverage which looks very natural. My face looks smooth and dewy when I put it on. It works like a tinted moisturizer for me. I have been wearing it to college for sometime and I have noticed that it lasts for some good 4-5 hours when I set it with a matte pressed powder which is pretty decent. Okay now, I have a combination skin and my T-zone gets shiny. This foundation doesn't eliminate any shine so it's not suitable for anyone who has an oily skin type. So far, it hasn't broke me out or clogged pores.
Here's how it looks after application
Overall, I'd say that this foundation has a decent coverage and is okay for everyday use. It doesn't give any cakey effect and my skin looks fresh wearing it. But it works best when paired with Rimmel Stay Matte compact powder. I don't see myself using it in summer, after all it's not really a matte foundation.
Rimmel Stay Matte foundation costs PKR 750 and is available at all superstore across Pakistan.
